Black Country Day 2014
Dudley Museum
Dudley

Black Country Day celebrates local history and industries in the Black Country (Dudley and Wolverhampton and the surrounding areas), and tells the story of the area, both today and in the past.

Based in Dudley Museum, Rich in History staged a display of the military aspects of life in The Black Country and surrounding areas, including the Victorian Army as well as soldiers of The Great War.

Local industries featured in the display, in particular the gun-making and leather indutries, both of which, together with the munitions industries, were vital to the war effort.

During the day many visitors to the exhibition took the opportunity to handle the artefacts and ask questions about local history.
